Kobox Chelsea is where “boxing meets nightclub”, with a state of the art studio just off the Kings Road, providing training in boxing and fitness with a large professional sound system.  The consortium and the architect were concerned that the residents that lived nearby in the luxury appartments may be disturbed by noise from the lively activities in the studio. The local authority also had the usual concerns over the potential noise and disturbance to nearby residents.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd were called in to investigate and commissioned to undertake noise surveys, and compile comprehensive noise reports with detailed recommendations to improve the building, to enable the in-house specialist builders to start the construction. We inspected on site to assist with technical advice on the complex construction.

 

The  large studio was soon completed and the follow up sound tests confirmed that the target sound levels were just achieved, and the classes soon started filling up with enthusiastic trainers and customers working hard to get fighting fit, with a great music backing track. Many of the sessions are now sold out weeks in advance, and the first Kobox has proved a great success for the owners.
