The Lift Youth Hub is a large healthy living centre for young people in Islington, with a Dance Studio, conference rooms, various computer studios, providing training in valuable life skills. The centre is managed by Isledon Arts, who have many similar large buildings.

 

The managers wanted to generate more revenue to underpin their services in Islington to benefit young people. In their desire to increase uptake both the Dance Studio and Conference room needed to be in use at the same time; one a very loud room, and one a very quiet sensitive use room. This technical challenge needed some good advice.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd , recommended by the Local Authority as professional noise experts, were called in, and commissioned for noise surveys, reports, & detailed recommendations. We also have an experienced team of support specialists including structural engineers, and specialist sound proofing contractors.

 

We continue to provide technical support throughout the project, liaising with the management team, and have been commissioned for interim sound and vibration tests to ensure that the most cost effective solutions are followed. When all our recommended works are finished then a completion sound test should confirm the success of the works.
