The Turkish owners of this popular coffee shop wanted to expand the business and open a restaurant in the evening to serve alcohol, and needed a full Premises Licence. These licenses are getting more difficult to get granted, especially Islington and Hackney.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd, as qualified Licensing Agents, were called in to advise, instructed to prepare the application documents, to talk with the Police, noise team and licensing team, from the Local Authority, to ensure the application went smoothly. We now have an in house Architect as part of the team, and she helped with the plans and drawings. The new Premises Licence application was soon submitted.  

 

Our reports are always issued to the high professional industry standard that would support our clients’ case in Crown Court or Appeal if necessary, and of course for the Licence Committee. We are well known to the Local Authority and Police, and we were successful; the Premises Licence was soon granted.  

 

All the relevant permissions are now in place on the Premises Licence, and the Sage Restaurant is now open for business with full meals and alcohol, and is very successful with a full restaurant on many nights.
